Hi my name is Carol, I am a 48 year old woman, wife and mother of three children, 28,17,and 15.

I first saw the Ramones play when I was 18 in Aug 1974 at C.B.G.B's. They took my breath away then and I have been a loyal and loving fan to this day.

My oldest daughter and I knew Joey, like most people did who hung around the East Village, in New York City. She knew all the Ramones because they played at clubs where she used to go,most don't even exist anymore.

To my delight, the Continental still stands,as does C.B's.

The Joey Ramone that I knew was shy, self conscious, and gentle. He never could hurt anyone, and in spite of all the illnesses that he had to overcome, he never complained.

Joey enjoyed being a Ramone,he was alive on stage, and cared for his fans.

Joey loved life!

He always made time to stop and talk to all of us in the streets near his apt., even if it took him an hour to get where he was going.

I finally got my first tattoo recently, something I had always wanted as a teenager. It is a broken heart with a tear drop with a purple flower going through it and in script it is written RAMONES. I am so proud of it and show it off to everyone.

I will love the Ramones forever and most of all the front man Joey. I don't know another man who when singing his ballads in his baritone voice could make this girls heart stop and feel like he was singing just to me.

I am proud to be PUNK.

I am proud to be a spokesman for the Ramones.

I can talk about them all day long.

I enjoy turning  the next generation of teenagers on to what PUNK was back in the day and the band who made it that way.

R.I.P.Joey
